I picked up this piece on a recent visit to Tibet. It is made from Chinese Nepherite Jade and encrusted in Silver with some small pieces of red rice coral around the sides. The Buddhist Monks use these bowls in the religious ritual of drinking holy water.
It's Chinese nephrite jade encrusted in silver. It's very old but sorry I don't know how old by all means please send me a line if you can shed any light. It has a wall thickness of about 3mm,.
The darker area's that you see in the photo just above are where the silver is blocking the light.

This is another Piece I picked up in Tibet. I know it's not Jade but it is something a bit different and unusual. It is a wax stamp that was used in Tibet for offical documents, the design of the stamp is on the base. It is made from a large piece of Turquoise encrusted in Silver with some small pieces of red rice coral and Jade on the front and back of the stamp.
This will make a great center piece to be added to your collection
